Electrical Stimulation

Physical therapy or chiropractic treatment of a male patient’s injured shoulder using transcutaneous interferential electrical stimulation (TENS) for pain management.
Electrical stimulation is used to reduce pain, reduce muscle spasms and promote healing. Electrodes are placed on the body in various places to target specific muscle fibers. This treatment helps to enhance the effects of our other treatments. We typically combine electric stimulation with either cryotherapy or thermotherapy to obtain the fastest results. Patients leave the therapy bay relaxed, with less muscle tension, and ready for their chiropractic adjustment.
