At Sports Performance+Spine, we offer a variety of services to help reach your goals!
The mission of SP+S is to restore health, improve function, and increase performance. We do this by bridging the gap between rehabilitation to performance. Re-developing proper movement patterns with spinal corrections and functional exercise helps take patients and athletes to the next level in rehab, performance and lifestyle. Our approach provides our patients with reduced pain, an active approach to rehabilitation, and provides assistance with performance or wellness care to maintain a healthy, durable, and pain-free lifestyle.
Not only do we utilize the most advanced spinal adjustment protocols, we also focus on soft tissue modalities. In order for our athletes and patients to perform optimally, we have been trained in Graston and Active Release Techniques. Both of these are innovative soft tissue techniques that break up adhesions from overuse injuries such as muscle pulls, tendonitis, or even a sprained ankle. We also use a specialized form of joint support taping, called RockTape, designed to aid recovery by supporting the muscles, tendons and joints in their natural movements without prohibiting, but in fact enhancing, their movement.
Whether you are a professional athlete, or just enjoy taking part in your spare time, injuries are very much a common occurrence. Pulls, sprains, and strains occur regularly, and while many heal quickly without the need for professional intervention, other injuries may take weeks or even months away from your sport while you heal.
Laser Therapy is an FDA cleared modality that reduces inflammation and ultimately results in pain reduction. Laser Therapy is effective in treating acute pain, chronic conditions and post-op pain.
Pregnancy is often one of the happiest times in a family’s life. However, due to the nature of growing a child within your womb, the body also undergoes several significant physical changes. The body’s ability to foster life comes with compromises to a mother’s body which can cause discomfort and pain in the back and neck.
Instrument Assisted Soft Tissue Mobilization (IASTM) is a variation of traditional cross fiber (transverse) friction massage. It is a form of treatment used to “break up” or “soften” scar tissue, thus allowing for a return of normal function in the area being treated.
Kinesio® Taping method involves utilizing a special elastic-like tape over and around muscles and/or joints in order to assist and give support to affected tissues as well as to prevent over-contraction.
Each table at SP+S is equipped with a traction mechanism. Traction used in conjunction with chiropractic care loosens (unlocks) joints and gives passive motion exercise and therapy to the joints.
